1. Who we are

Ready Set Collect ("we," "us") is a family-run comic book business that has bought and sold comics since 1988, operating online at readysetcollectshop.com. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these Terms, our Refund & Return Policy, our Shipping Policy and our Privacy Policy.

2. Condition, grading and descriptions

• Raw books. We grade raw books ourselves using standard industry grading terms. A grade is our careful opinion of condition, not a guarantee of any grade a third party might assign. Photos are part of the description. Where the photos and the text differ, contact us before buying.
• Graded books. For books graded by CGC, CBCS, PSA or another third-party service, the grade, label notes and any signature authentication are that company's opinion, and we don't make our own warranty about them. Questions about a grader's opinion should go to that grading company. Slab scuffs and minor holder wear are normal.
• Restoration and defects. We disclose restoration and notable defects we know of. Our Refund & Return Policy explains what happens if undisclosed restoration is later confirmed.
• Values. Any reference to price guides, recent sales, "key" status, first appearances or market value is general information and not a promise of future value. Comics are collectibles, not investments, and prices can go down as well as up.
• Stock photos. If a listing uses a stock or representative image, the listing will say so.

3. One-of-a-kind items and availability

Most of our items are single copies. Adding an item to your cart doesn't reserve it. An item can occasionally sell elsewhere before our inventory updates. If that happens, we'll let you know quickly and refund that item in full. We're not liable for any other costs or losses from an item being unavailable.

4. Pricing and listing errors

We work hard to price and describe items accurately, but mistakes happen. If an item is listed at the wrong price, with a wrong description, or with any other obvious error, we may cancel the order (or the affected item) and refund you in full. This applies even after you get an order confirmation. When it makes sense, we'll offer you the item at the correct price first. Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice. Changes don't affect orders we've already accepted and shipped.

5. Orders and acceptance

Your order confirmation email means we've received your order, not that we've accepted it. We accept an order when it ships. We may limit quantities, or decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including orders that look like they're for resale and orders from accounts linked to earlier chargebacks or abuse. If we cancel, you'll receive a full refund.

6. Order cancellations by you

You can cancel any order at no charge until it ships. Email readysetcollectshop@gmail.com as soon as possible with your order number. Once an order has shipped, our Refund & Return Policy applies.

7. Payments and security review

We accept payment through Shopify Payments (major credit and debit cards, and wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay where available) and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

To protect our customers and our collection, orders flagged by our payment provider as higher risk are reviewed by hand before shipping. During review, which usually takes up to 2 business days, we may ask you to confirm your identity, billing address or phone number. We may also ship only to the verified billing address or require signature confirmation. If we can't verify an order, we'll cancel it and refund your payment in full. Placing a chargeback or payment dispute while an order is in transit, or after delivery without first contacting us, may lead us to decline future orders.

8. Shipping, title and risk

Shipping terms are set out in our Shipping Policy. Ownership of an item passes to you when we receive full payment. We handle carrier claims for items lost or damaged in transit, as described in our Shipping Policy.

9. International buyers

You're responsible for knowing and following your country's import rules and for paying any duties, taxes and fees. We complete customs forms truthfully and can't under-declare value or label purchases as gifts.

10. Pre-orders

We don't currently offer pre-orders. If we do in the future, the product listing will explain the expected release timing, how charges work and how to cancel. Those listing terms will apply along with these Terms.

11. Sales tax

We collect sales tax where required by law, including on orders shipped within California. Tax is calculated at checkout.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you actually paid for that order, including shipping. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost resale value or changes in market value. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

13. Disclaimer

Except for the promises expressly made in these Terms and our policies, items are sold as described in their listings, without other warranties, express or implied, to the extent allowed by law.

14. Use of our site and content

Our content belongs to us. The listings, cover and item photos, condition grades and notes, key-issue notes and categories, descriptions, prices, series, character and release-date information, and the way we select, organize and present all of it (together, "Site Content") are owned by Ready Set Collect or used with permission. They are protected by copyright and other laws. Our compiled catalog and database is a valuable work we created at significant effort and expense.

Personal use only. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable permission to view the site and Site Content in a web browser for your own personal, non-commercial shopping. Any other use requires our prior written permission.

No scraping or automated collection. Without our prior written permission, you may not, and may not help or allow anyone else to:

• use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper, script, browser extension, AI agent or other automated or manual process to access, copy, download, extract, index, monitor or collect Site Content or data from the site or its underlying APIs and data feeds;
• copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license or create derivative works from Site Content, including our photos, grades and key-issue notes, or build a database, price guide, index or data set from it;
• use Site Content to train, fine-tune, test, prompt or improve any artificial intelligence or machine-learning model, or to feed any such system;
• use Site Content to build, support or benefit a competing store, marketplace, price-comparison service or product;
• frame or mirror any part of the site, or deep-link to our images or data in a way that presents them as part of another site;
• get around, disable or interfere with robots.txt instructions, rate limits, CAPTCHAs, access controls or any other technical measure we use to protect the site; or
• put an unreasonable load on the site or disrupt how it works for other visitors.

General-purpose public search engines may index public pages of the site only as permitted by our robots.txt file, only to provide search results that link back to us, and not to store or reuse Site Content for any other purpose.

Enforcement. We may monitor site traffic, block or limit access by any person, device, IP address or automated agent, and cancel orders or accounts that we believe are connected with a violation of this section. Unauthorized use of Site Content may violate copyright, computer-access and other laws. Because this kind of misuse can cause harm that money alone can't fix, we may seek an injunction or other court relief, in addition to damages and any other remedies available to us, and to recover our reasonable costs and attorneys' fees where the law allows.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at readysetcollectshop@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it directly. We usually can.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply to orders placed after the updated Terms are posted.
