Refund policy

Our promise

We've been buying and selling comics since 1988, and we want every book to arrive the way we described it. If something isn't right, tell us and we'll work it out with you.

Raw (ungraded) comics: 7-day returns

You can return raw comics for any reason within 7 days of delivery.

  • Email readysetcollectshop@gmail.com with your order number and the item(s) you'd like to return. Please wait for our return authorization before you ship anything. Returns without authorization may be refused or charged a restocking fee of up to 25%.
  • Send the item back in the same condition you received it, still in its bag, board and packaging. Pack it as carefully as we did.
  • For change-of-mind returns, you pay the return shipping, and the original shipping charge isn't refundable. We recommend a tracked, insured service. Items lost or damaged on the way back to us are your responsibility.
  • Authorized change-of-mind returns carry a 25% restocking fee. There's no restocking fee when we sent the wrong item or the book doesn't match its photos or description. Items that come back in worse condition than we sent them may be declined.

If we got it wrong

If we sent the wrong item, or a book doesn't match its description or photos, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We'll email you a prepaid return label and refund your full purchase price, including the original shipping.

About our raw grades

We grade raw books by hand using standard industry grading terms. A grade is an informed opinion, and experienced graders can reasonably differ by a notch. If a raw book you bought from us later receives a different grade from CGC, CBCS or PSA, that result alone isn't grounds for a refund. You're still welcome to use the 7-day return window.

Restoration

We disclose any restoration we know of. If a raw book we sold as unrestored is confirmed by a professional grading service to have restoration we didn't disclose, you can return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.

Graded (slabbed) comics: CGC, CBCS, PSA

A graded book's grade is the grading company's opinion, not ours. For that reason:

  • Graded books can't be returned because you disagree with the grade, or because a regrade, crack-and-press or resubmission gives a different result.
  • We will accept a graded book back within 7 days of delivery if it doesn't match the listing: for example a different certification number, grade, title or issue than advertised, or a label problem we didn't disclose.
  • We record the certification number and photograph every slab before it ships. A returned slab must have the same certification number, with the holder intact and no signs of being opened, altered or re-sealed. Returns that don't meet this can't be accepted and will be sent back to you.
  • Light scuffs, scratches and minor holder wear are normal for slabs and aren't grounds for a return.
  • If a holder arrives cracked or damaged in shipping, please treat it as a shipping damage claim (see below).

Signed books

Signatures on books graded by CGC (Signature Series), CBCS (Verified Signature) or PSA are authenticated by that company. Raw signed books are sold exactly as described in the listing, including any certificate of authenticity we list.

Damaged in transit

We pack carefully, but carriers aren't always gentle. If your order arrives damaged:

  1. Email readysetcollectshop@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the item, the box and the packing material.
  2. Keep all the packaging until we tell you the claim is finished. Carriers often require it.
  3. We'll refund or replace the item (if we have another copy) and handle the carrier claim ourselves. You won't have to wait for the claim to be paid.

Items we can't take back

  • Graded books returned for grade disagreement.
  • Items that have been altered, pressed, cleaned, restored, removed from a slab or submitted for grading after delivery.
  • Gift cards.
  • Sale items.
  • Any item marked "final sale" in its listing.

Refunds

Once your return arrives and we've checked it, we'll issue your refund within 5 business days to your original payment method (Shopify Payments or PayPal). Your bank or card issuer may take a few more days to post it.

International returns

The same rules apply. Duties, taxes and brokerage fees you paid on import aren't refundable by us, and international return shipping is the buyer's responsibility.
