About Us

Bringing Hobbies Home Since 1988

Two generations. One lifelong love of comics.

Ready Set Collect is a second-generation, family-run comic book, card and collectibles shop. It all started with our father, who began collecting comics during the Golden Age. He opened the original shop in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1988, and our family has been collecting ever since. Today the next generation carries it on from Los Angeles, California. A lot has changed over the years, but not the reason we do this: we love comics and the people who collect them, and we want to help you find the books you're looking for.

What you'll find here

Our shelves come from decades of collecting and dealing: tens of thousands of comics covering the Golden, Silver, Bronze, Copper and Modern Ages, from Marvel and DC to Image, Dark Horse, Archie and hundreds of independent publishers. Browse by publisher, series, character, creator, era or release date, or go straight to variants and signed books. Whether you're filling the last gap in a run, chasing a first appearance or picking up something fun to read, we want it to be easy to find.

Comics are the heart of what we do, and we're growing our selection of trading cards (including Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering) and action figures too.

Collectors helping collectors

  • Honest descriptions. Every listing shows the issue, variant, creators, key-issue notes and condition. If you have a question about a book, ask us before you buy.
  • Key issues, clearly marked. We research first appearances, origins, deaths and other milestones, and flag them on each book so you know what you're getting.
  • Packed like it's going into our own collection. Every book ships bagged and boarded and packed securely. In-stock orders ship within 1–3 business days, and orders placed the same day ship together.
  • Fair prices. A huge selection of affordable reader copies sits alongside the keys and high-grade books.

We buy comics too
